Description

Möhlin is Wasenhaus's Spätburgunder from a terraced parcel on the Ehrenstetter Ölberg, above the stream that gives the site its name. The slopes, some of them very steep, face southeast and have shallow, poor limestone-based soils, requiring substantial manual work. The Pinot Noir is fermented with indigenous yeasts in open vats and matures in used oak. The proportion of whole clusters varies with the vintage rather than following a fixed recipe. This red is centred on the character of its vineyard and is distinct from Wasenhaus's white Möhlin bottling.
