Weingut am Stein's Innere Leiste Silvaner comes from one of Würzburg's historic vineyard sites in Franconia. The vines occupy a narrow valley south of the former episcopal residence, where warmth rising from the city meets the influence of northerly winds, softened by woodland. Cool nights help the grapes retain their acidity. Muschelkalk limestone soils and a southerly exposure further define this particular setting. The wine offers an interpretation of Silvaner rooted in Würzburg's geography and in the emphasis on vineyard origin that the Knoll family places at the heart of its work.
