GrapesGrüner Veltliner
Description
F.X. Pichler’s Loibner Grüner Veltliner takes its name from Oberloiben and Unterloiben in the eastern Wachau. The grapes come from level vineyards in the Loiben basin, where the Danube deposited alluvial sand and gravel. These soils are light and relatively warm, differing from the rocky terraces behind other estate wines. This village origin is expressed through a delicate Grüner Veltliner with an elegant structure and soft fruit. Classified as an Ortswein, the wine offers an interpretation of the valley-floor landscape while keeping the grape variety clearly in focus.
