Description

F.X. Pichler’s Burgstall Grüner Veltliner comes from a rocky terrace near Unterloiben in the Wachau. Its name recalls a medieval fortification, while the vineyard occupies a sunny, well-ventilated site. A thin layer of sand covers gneiss and granite rock. This setting accompanies a fruity, spicy wine with juicy texture and a persistent finish. The cuvée retains the name of the individual vineyard, relating the expression of Grüner Veltliner to Burgstall’s elevated position, shallow soil and exposure to moving air in this part of the valley.
