Description

F.X. Pichler’s Burgstall Riesling comes from a rocky terrace near Unterloiben in the Wachau. The vineyard occupies a sunny, well-ventilated position with a thin sandy layer over gneiss and granite. Its name refers to a small medieval fortification, recalling the site’s long history. This Riesling has a saline profile and a mineral impression, accompanied by suggestions of white peach and pineapple. The texture remains delicate and the finish is sustained. The cuvée therefore links the variety’s expression to a rocky site shaped by sunlight and the circulation of air.
