Description

F.X. Pichler’s Loibenberg Grüner Veltliner originates on steep Wachau terraces in a large, predominantly south-facing vineyard. Dry-stone walls store warmth during the day and release it in the evening. Gföhl gneiss, sand, stones and traces of loess form the soil, encouraging drainage. The wine has a full body and juicy texture, with smoky and tobacco-like suggestions alongside its mineral element. Persistence and the capacity for bottle development complete an interpretation of Grüner Veltliner closely linked to the warm, rocky environment of the Loibenberg and its terraces.
