Joh. Jos. Prüm’s 2013 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese is a Mosel Riesling from a steep vineyard facing south and southwest. The soils are deep and rich in weathered grey slate. Hand harvesting selects ripe grapes in a vintage marked by the presence of noble rot during the harvest. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. The profile suggests ripe stone fruit, with mineral nuances and a well-defined structure. Its sweetness belongs to the estate’s tradition of Auslese wines, a tradition rooted in the property founded in Wehlen in 1911.
