Description

Nigl’s 2023 Goldberg Riesling comes from Rehberg in the Kremstal, where an outcrop of amphibolite distinguishes the vineyard from its surroundings. The vines occupy a southwest-facing slope between 250 and 315 metres above sea level. The family restored this site in 1999, rebuilding the terraces and planting Riesling after a long period of abandonment. The wine combines suggestions of exotic fruit with a dark mineral element, evident acidity and juicy texture. Freshness and structure reflect the interpretation of an individual site within the valley crossed by the river Krems.
