Nigl’s Grüner Veltliner Eiswein is a sweet wine from Lower Austria made with grapes harvested and pressed while naturally frozen. Ice retains some of the water, concentrating the must destined for fermentation. The grapes come from loess soils and the wine is matured in wood. Grüner Veltliner’s spicy element accompanies suggestions of apple and quince, while acidity supports the sweetness and keeps the palate clearly defined. Served chilled, it can accompany sorbets, fruit desserts or blue cheeses, bringing its combination of concentration and freshness to the pairing.
