Description

Herzstück vom Kirchenberg is Nigl’s Grüner Veltliner from the slope beneath Senftenberg’s historic church. Sheltered from the wind and facing southeast, the vineyard rests on mica schist at elevations between 250 and 315 metres. It belongs to the cool landscape of the Krems valley, where weathered bedrock soils characterise the family’s vineyards. In its general account of the site, the estate associates this position with gooseberry and quince notes, expressing the relationship between the grape variety and the particular conditions of the place where it grows.
