Description

Nigl’s Pinot Noir comes from Pfenningberg, a very steep vineyard in Senftenberg in the Kremstal. Mica-schist rock and a cool climate define the setting where the family grows this variety. The winery occupies a historic building below the Kirchenberg, acquired in 1994. Its stated cellar approach favours careful handling and restrained intervention, allowing the site and harvest to remain recognisable. For this Pinot Noir, the producer specifies traditional maturation in large oak barrels, consistent with the estate’s attention to the character of individual vineyards.
