Description

Xavier Monnot's Monthélie Blanc Les Duresses is a Chardonnay from the western side of the valley surrounding the village, beside the road towards the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels, partly new. The cuvée belongs to a Meursault estate whose vineyards extend between Beaune and Maranges. The property was known as Domaine René Monnier, after Xavier's grandfather; from the 2005 vintage, the wines carry his own name. This white-wine origin forms part of the house's work with the varied territories of the Côte de Beaune.
